This publication marks the first occasion for Hubbardâ s photographs and writings-for-performance to exist on the same scale, that of the book. â â co-editor, Corrine Fitzpatrick The book is accompanied by a poster with a full-scale detail reproduction of Katherine Hubbard's rip stop weave artwork, printed on glossy tissue paper. Additional contributions by Zoe Leonard, Mónica de la Torre, Elisabeth Sherman, and Lynne Tillman. Edited by Corrine Fitzpatrick and Lara Mimosa Montes.

    Title: Frank Peter John Dick
    By (author): K8 Hardy
    ISBN10-13: 0982209029 : 9780982209028
On November 13, 2011, Capricious Publishing celebrated the release of artist K8 Hardyâ s latest book, Frank Peter John Dick. Hardyâ s work riffs on pop culture and all the images we encounter as consumers. The art she exhibits are photographs and sculptures, but part of her process is gathering masses of images from disparate sources and obsessively collaging them together. In a sense, these collages are edits of photos torn from magazines, printed advertisements, and other visual imagery that Hardy finds compelling. Yet they also include her darkroom test strips and snapshots found at the junk store. These collages were never originally intended for exhibition or print, but merely research for the artistâ s work. It was only after a few people saw them in her studio that she was encouraged to show them. For this reason, the collages are powerful and weighty; each is itâ s own essay. Hardy has made visual examinations that deal with complicated ideas, issues of representation, phenomenon in style, and playful contemplations of fashion.

    Title: Pro Anatomy
    By (author): Zeipel
    ISBN10-13: 0989865673 : 9780989865678
Pro Anatomy is the first catalog of Swedish artist Cajsa von Zeipelâ s work from 2007 to 2015. Divided into three parts, the book presents the artistâ s obsession with her own body as it relates to her diverse practice, from her signature sculptures to her most recent work, 1:1, a project that represents a new direction for the artist in her engagement with the human form. Using a CAT scan of her body, von Zeipel 3D-printed a replica of her own skeleton, continuing her investigation into the bodyâ s aestheticâ and scientificâ complexities when it is stripped to muscle and bones. Whereas much of her work has dealt with the surface of the body, 1:1 cuts to the bone. Featuring new essays by writers Andrew Durbin, Chris Ford, Stefanie Hessler, Sarah Nicole Prickett, and Lyndsy Welgos, Pro Anatomy also includes an introductory text by the artist as well as A-Z, a poetic script for a 2009 sound piece. In her introduction to the book, â Bad Sad Mad Glad,â the artist writes intimately about her practice, covering her range of interests, from installation work and classical sculpture to Tom of Finland and new media. â I have always fed on the border,â she writes, â where things are simultaneously appealing and scaryâ works that move from the attractive to the repulsive, grotesque, and studied. â Von Zeipelâ s sculpture deals directly with the cosmetic and social discourses that influence how the body is imaged and actualized. In Pro Anatomy, she introduces the myth of Narcissus as integral to how she conceptualizes her practice. In doing so, von Zeipel presents her work as it relatesâ and respondsâ to the ways our bodies are idealized, altered, and presented in life and in media. Threading in images from a CAT scan of her body throughout the book, von Zeipel offers a new perspective in her continuing engagement with the human form. Pro Anatomy presents von Zeipelâ s storyâ what Chris Ford writes is a â story of self and narcissism, techne, and courage, and audacity and hermeneutics and talent and heart and soul, deep intelligence, epistemology, tooâ â in a dynamic, comprehensive

    Title: Royal Orphan
    By (author): Amber Ibarreche
    ISBN10-13: 0989865614 : 9780989865616
A book of prolific collage work, ROYAL ORPHAN is the result of Ibarrecheâ s methodic scavenging and hyper meditation on small details overlooked. She is at once an editor and alchemist, imbuing found imagery with new and layered meaningâ deeply coded with the canon of queer and outsider attitude. Hidden messages, double entendres, bold symbol and sign draw you into her reassembled worldâ at times desperate and frenetic and, at others, emerging as shelter for her infinite play. Amber Ibarreche is an art maker, skateboarder, and composer of words. The subculture of skateboarding, the music scene and comic book clubs sparked her first interest in art and alternative movements. Today, she makes zines, collages, drawings, and writings. Living and working in Brooklyn, New York, Ibarreche hails from Jacksonville, Florida. Amber is also known for her silk-screened fabric jewelry and clothing line, IBARRECHE.

    By (author): Caitlin Price

Stranger Lives is a vibrant taxonomy of sunbathers developed primarily on the sand between Coney Island and Brighton Beach from 2008 to 2015. Title: Tuesday or September or The End
By (author): Hannah Black Edited by: Anika Sabin
    ISBN10-13: 1734656239 : 9781734656237
Tuesday or September or The End by Hannah Black is an incisive and playful work of speculative fiction that explores the rupture year of 2020, when aliens finally invaded. Hannah Black is an artist and writer from the UK. She lives in New York. She has written for a number of publications including The New Inquiry, Artforum, and Bookforum. Her previous books include Dark Pool Party (2016) and Life (2017, with Juliana Huxtable). She is represented by the galleries Arcadia Missa in London and Isabella Bortolozzi in Berlin. Praise for Tuesday or September or the End: Tuesday or September or the End puts calendar time back into messianic time, and also the reverse. An account of the last two disorienting years in history, in our lives, this intimate and funny and abstract fiction uses fable, and unreality, to flood a reader with the real, to remind her what is at stake. â Rachel Kushner Allegory and satire, alert and conscious, Hannah Blackâ s Tuesday or September or the End, is an existential novel. Narrative innocence is not the engine of this work; knowledge of life in the modern is. Bird and Dog, Blackâ s wide awake and dreaming characters, are electric and wise. This novel is fluent in our dystopia and utopia. â Dionne Brand An acid calendar of planetary rot and revolt, Hannah Blackâ s new novel listens for that alien language of the future: total social transformation. Staging debates on communism and social democracy, or unraveling the double helix of race and capitalism, Blackâ s calendar is one that breathes and breaks, figuring the temporal hiccups of revolution. Suddenly itâ s no longer endless winter and our narrator Bird, much like chirping in early spring, brings us to witness the reanimation of the world. â Greg Nissan In Tuesday or September or the End, we see ourselves battered by time, which isnâ t real, and chance, which is. But just as â the world resists its reduction to winter,â Hannah Blackâ s writing, in its passionate grasp of possibility, resists spiritual suicide. The book is deeply felt because the pain of attachment is close to its center and funny because life is currently absurd. But what I love most about it, reading its compact brilliant sentences in this sunless covid afternoon, is the way it makes an argument for clarity, which really canâ partially, briefly, and when it matters mostâ sometimes be achieved. â Benjamin Krusling
