Title: Assassin
Sub-title: The Ultimate Thriller
By (author): Hugo N Gerstl
ISBN10-13: 1888820578 : 9781888820577
The ultimate thriller -- with a twist. Forty-five years ago, a set of twins was separated at birth when their parents were caught in the crossfire between police and robbers. Flash forward to the present. Five billionaires plot to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader, the Ayatollah Khamenei, by hiring the most expensive killer in the world. Iran learns of the plot through a web of sex, lies, and betrayal, but they know they are hopelessly outclassed in counterterrorism. Only one service in the world has the wherewithal to bring down the assassin -- Israel, a country Iran refuses to recognise. Nevertheless, Iran finally manages to hire Israel's best counterterrorist. Unknown to one another, the assassin is one twin and the Israeli counterterrorist is the other. Let the chase begin! If you like a great thriller, such as The DaVinci Code or The Day of the Jackal, you will certainly love ASSASSIN. It stands apart from other thrillers because it is truly original and goes outside the box to run circles around other books in this genre. Hugo Gerstl, famed American trial lawyer and bestselling author of eleven novels that have been translated worldwide, and fifteen works of nonfiction, has been involved in the American entertainment industry for years. The author has lived several lives as musician, pilot, actor, and director, and is uniquely qualified to write this work. He resides on the Monterey Peninsula with his wife Lorraine. This is his eighth novel for Dekel Publishing Group.

Title: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Basic Techniques
By (author): Duca Gurgel do Amaral Amaral
ISBN10-13: 9657178118 : 9789657178119
Jiu-Jitsu, literally meaning 'the gentle art', is a popular form of self-defence that does not necessarily rely on physical strength and power. Seven-time World Champion Fabio Gurgel presents us with a comprehensive two-volume series that brings simplicity to the complex movements of this Martial Art, as he reveals the secrets of Jiu-Jitsu step-by-step. 'Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Basics' is fully illustrated and simplify the technical expressions of the art form to allow any student to learn and improve. Originally, Jiu-Jitsu was developed for the Samurai, ancient warriors who had little or no armour to defend themselves against a more powerful and well-armed enemy. As such, Jiu-Jitsu is the father of Japanese Martial Arts, including Judo and Aikido, and it has influenced Karate and other styles of Martial Arts. It utilises techniques of strikes, holds, locks, throws, and evasions. Mentally, Jiu-Jitsu teaches self-confidence, improves self-esteem, relieves stress, and increases the ability to focus. Jiu-Jitsu utilises physics and science through leverage and knowledge of human anatomy to overcome any attacker, with as little effort and physical strength as possible. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu differs from traditional Jiu-Jitsu in that it was developed in a different environment and area as a response to different needs. This caused the development of additional techniques that are more relevant to ground fighting and some relevant needs for dealing with violence in modern day life. Today, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is famous for its excellent ground fighting, high-level competitions, and competitors, as well as for its tactical thinking and manoeuvres. Seven-time World Champion Fabio Duca Gurgel do Amaral began practicing Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 13 and received his black belt at the age of 19. Along with his master, Romero Jacaré, he is the co-founder of the two-time World Champion Alliance Team with 40 academies around the world from Venezuela to New York, from Finland to Germany. Gurgel continues to teach at his own academy in São Paulo and gives seminars throughout the world. He is president of the Professional League of Jiu-Jitsu.

Title: Can't Swap Jokes with the Angel of Death
By (author): Lili Rebecca Kahan
ISBN10-13: 1941905129 : 9781941905128
An amazing story of survival against all odds and a great achievement for the writer who was a teenager during World War 2, 1939-1945. This is the personal story of a family torn apart, always on the run from country to country, hiding, hoping not to be discovered and praying to survive. Lili Rebecca Kahan grew up trying to stay alive and helping others do the same. She survived dangers as a member of the underground in Budapest, often thanks to her knowledge of languages including German. There, under the Germans noses, she also helped other Jews by giving them new identities in order to escape death. Today, when survivors are leaving this world, she wants to honor the silent command of those who perished -- remember and never forget. We, the last survivors, have a solemn obligation to testify, in the name of the dead and the living, that what we endured was a gruesome reality but also a permanent warning to mankind of horrors that might still lie ahead. Former president of France Nicolas Sarkozy so aptly put it when he said, The tragedy of the Holocaust should be etched onto our consciousness as it is onto our hearts.

Title: Energy Future
Sub-title: Fossils and Beyond
By (author): Moty Kuperberg
ISBN10-13: 1941905161 : 9781941905166
We cannot survive in a world where oil is $200 per barrel and where prices are dictated by a cartel and influenced by Wall Street. The free industrialized world, the glorious oil industry, and developed and developing countries have all fallen victim to greedy oil price crises. The worst year was 2008; our energy security, which the IEA defines as the uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price, was harmed. Yet the average price of crude oil in 20102014 was over $100 per barrel, only to sharply decline to $56 by the end of 2014, followed by an ongoing struggle to reach $50a price which is considered acceptable by the industry. Since 2015 and until fall 2017 crude oil price still kept below the $50 level. Energy Future puts the oil and gas industrys past and present in context in order to introduce an alternative future. This future is based on three main pillars defined by the author as ENERGY GPS: geopolitics = accessible, prices = affordable, and supply = available. Moty Kuperberg is a graduate of the department of Middle Eastern history at the University of Haifa (1984), and he holds a postgraduate degree in business administration and shipping from the City of London Polytechnic (1988). He has over twenty years of experience in shipping and energy, and during the last five years he has focused on his project of Independent Energy Security Agency (www.TheIESA.com) as a dynamic platform for improving the global security of supply.

Title: Experiencing Your Potential
Sub-title: Following Feldenkrais' Work -- The Elusive Border between Learning, Psychology, & Art
By (author): Abraham Z Shoshani
ISBN10-13: 9657178061 : 9789657178065
'Experiencing your Potential' is inspired by the work of Dr Shoshani's celebrated teacher and mentor, Dr Moshe Feldenkrais. The Hebrew edition of this book was adopted by Israel's Ministry of Education and Culture for use at the teacher-training institutes.

|
"An idea must be a pure image completely stripped or void of affect before it can reach the unconscious..." -- Dr Moshe Feldenkrais.
|
|
"Reading Avi Shoshani's book... is a unique experience -- the experience of a journey into man's spiritual world. This world is complex and complicated, but always attractive and interesting. Avi Shoshani's knowledge is extensive, amazingly profound, without stifling academics. One cannot but be impressed by the intellectual work invested in the writing of this book. The exciting encounter between the worlds of psychology and education lends a special quality and is intellectually challenging. The author successfully provides a new perspective while carefully maintaining the laws of science in the realm of the soul. Recommended to everyone who loves to know, think and feel." -- Dr G Katz, Lecturer in Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, The Hebrew University, Jerusalem.

|
"...Shoshani confronts a challenging topic. For this confrontation, he enlists, on one hand, his rich experience in mentoring students in various art disciplines and, on the other hand, his accumulated knowledge of neuro-physiology, psychology, philosophy, and education. Dr Shoshani's preparation of the student is not a training technique. His every word is charged with profound educational meaning. The student learns more than the different implementations, he learns about himself as performer, according to the path that the author has outlined for him. This work offers thinking challenges to the interested reader and inspiration and guidance to anyone involved in performance education." -- Professor Zvi Lam, former Head of the School of Education, The Hebrew University, Jerusalem.

Title: Facing Off
Sub-title: A Novel
By (author): Graciela Vaserman Samuels
ISBN10-13: 1941905021 : 9781941905029
A kaleidoscope of departures. In a century-long journey, men and women escape from a Europe in flames to the often convulsive but welcoming shores of Argentina. As Gabriela unveils to her daughters the land of her birth, the country becomes a map of thumbtack flags of flesh and blood. Readers see a revolving door of political parades and moments through the innocent eyes of a child, a rebel, and a mature woman. This is a catharsis at each milestone of motherhood, reflected in the responses of Gabrielas daughters. From Buenos Aires to Jerusalem to Paris and back to Jerusalem, fragile threads link family and tradition. A living willpower guides readers across the desert between generations. Facing Off was first published in Spanish as Al Dar la Cara by Metafora (Buenos Aires, 2010) and selected for display on the Argentine stand at the 2010 Frankfurt Book Fair.

Title: Fearless Parenting Makes Confident Kids
By (author): Shulamit Blank, Orly Fuchs-Shabtai
ISBN10-13: 1888820608 : 9781888820607
This book is about parental authority in modern times and its pivotal role in raising self-reliant, compassionate, and ethical children, and in preventing behavioural and even severe psychiatric disorders. The last generation witnessed a backlash against disciplining children. We as parents are told to engage in negotiation with our kids about their behaviour. We are afraid to be tough with them in case they will not love us or worse -- breakdown. As a result, families today face severe behaviour problems at earlier ages, and parents throw up their hands in resignation. The main theme and objective of this book is to prove that setting and enforcing reasonable and appropriate boundaries, combined with learning and education, could save parents' relationships with their kids and literally save children's lives. The book is unique in that it presents in a direct, simple, and yet profound way, real case studies and situations commonly encountered, along with severe cases of drug abuse, delinquencies, and mental disturbances. All cases are shown to respond very well to authority and boundaries adjusted to the specific situation and behaviour. The book contains numerous references to professional material for the more advanced reader and derives inspiration from ancient philosophers and religious thinkers.

Title: Landscapes of Israel
By (author): M Kaufman
ISBN10-13: 9659060300 : 9789659060306
These thirty-three drawings, collected from hundreds of drawings, are the fruition of sketching trips of the artist to the historic and picturesque landscapes of the Holy Land. They reflect the artist's admiration of the majestic sceneries he has witnessed while touring the various regions of the country. His formative years were spent in Jerusalem where the urban landscapes of Jerusalem were first absorbed. During his student years in Haifa he enjoyed many trips to the mountains of the Carmel and the Galilee. In later years, being involved in the planning of the town of Eilat, he had the opportunity to be in close contact with the mountainous desert views of the Negev and the Arava.

Title: Motivational Marketing
Sub-title: You Bet Its Personal!: How I Sold Goods in Millions to the Richest World Markets
By (author): Shlomo Knoller
ISBN10-13: 1941905188 : 9781941905180
This inspiring book, made of real-life study-cases, tells the often surprising story of the author's special way in successfully restructuring, managing, and expanding the international marketing activity of industrial companies in Israel, Europe and the United States. Besides, it reflects on the outstanding growth of lsrael's economy, which started in 1948 as a small developing country with barely half a million citizens and now boasts cutting-edge high-tech industries that worth billions of dollars export worldwide. The readers, especially those who are trying to follow Knoller's impressive example, will be equally thrilled and amused though also equipped with most useful tools for their own professional challenges. Shlomo Knoller was born in April 1934, to a Jewish family in Berlin. His grandfather owned textile stores in Berlin, but then two of the stores were ravished in a Nazi rally. This brought the man, who had previously fought for Germany in the First World War as an officer, to take his family to Israel, then Palestine Mandate, till the storm blows over. The entire family was saved from extinction due to this fortunate decision. The Knollers lived in Tel Aviv. Shlomo, the third generation, graduated from a Vocational High School, and did his regular army duty in the Nachal program, which combined military service with Kibbutz life. Most naturally, the author joined as a member Kibbutz Yiftach in Upper Galilee, and at age 23 he married Edna, a farmers' daughter from Yokne'am village, who became his life-partner for over sixty years. They have three daughters and nine grandchildren, and still work their land. A year after their marriage they left the kibbutz and moved to newly-built southern city of Ashdod, a famous sea town since biblical times, where Shlomo Knoller started as a maintenance worker at Rogosin Enterprise, and later ended as its CEO. The rest of his meteoric and absorbing career is depicted in this book.
