Title: Dreaming About Tomorrow
By (author): Johanna Hoffbeck
ISBN10-13: 139994407X : 9781399944076
| What does it mean to dream about tomorrow? This new title articulates how dreaming about tomorrow can be an act of bravery. The publication follows an exhibition of the same title, which took place at Nidi Gallery (Tokyo) in October 2022. The exhibition and publication feature recent paintings, some in oil, others using natural pigments, including some created from plants grown in the artist's allotment. Photographs from Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck's ongoing series Analog Diary and unique collaborative works with ceramic designer Olivia Fiddes (UK) and weaver Pauline Simonet (France), as well as The Gardening Drawing Club and the Seed Library set up at Nidi Gallery are also featured in this publication. This publication features a new essay by PhD holder and Oslo University-based researcher Veronika Muchitsch as a written response to the project. â Dreaming About Tomorrow radiates with a radical softness and unwavering openness that characterises Johanna Tagada Hoffbeckâ s artistic and lived practice at large. â Veronika Muchitsch â As I have suggested in this essay, dreaming is here not an entirely utopian activity, but materialises through actions of care, compassion, and community that weave an intricate fabric of time. In the face of endings, loss, and time standing still in small and big ways, this work inspires us to dare to remember, to build the present and to dream of tomorrow, as blurry as it may appear. â - Veronika Muchitsch Further information Colour print Staple bound Design by 75W Studio Languages: English & Japanese Printed in England using vegetable inks Edited by T. | Title: Growing Long, Growing Deep |
ISBN10-13: 1399968149 : 9781399968140
â Noticing the minute level of detail in Jatinderâ s work is often one of the viewerâ s first responses. Jatinder works using a brush sourced from Rajasthan, northern India. The size of the hand tool means that each work takes a substantial amount of time to complete, often months. However, it is this slow, meditative process that Jatinder enjoys. For most of his work, he utilises natural stone pigments imported from the same region alongside precious materials, including gold leaf. " Growing Long, Growing Deep is the first publication dedicated to the practice of British Indian Sikh artist Jatinder Singh Durhailay (b. 1988, London, United Kingdom). Jatinder Singh Durhailayâ s work is part of international public and private collections, including The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Canada) and The Museum of Art & Photography Bengaluru (India). This publication features a specially commissioned essay by Laurie Barron.

Edited by Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck, designed by 75W Studio. Including an essay by Harr-Joht Kaur Takhar and the participation of Sarah Gissinger. Published by Poetic Pastel Press. Limited edition of 500 copies, including a CD. Packed in biodegradable clear cases. â Sounds are swollen, expanded and layered, steadily unfolding through time. However, these smooth resonances are also disrupted through Jatinderâ s attempts to imitate the synthesiser by plucking the smaller strings of the dilruba. Though an unusual method to adopt, plucking demonstrates Jatinderâ s concern to create intimate dialogues between both instruments. This is also matched by Suren, who at points attempts to mimic the dilruba using the synthesiserâ s palette. Such exchanges, occurring at a sonic level, are made visible in this publication through measured textual and visual offerings. The choice to accompany their debut album with a design-led publication highlights how Petit Oiseau isnâ t merely a musical project, but an artistic one too. â Harr-Joht Kaur Takhar After their 2012 inaugural performance at Tate Modern The Tanks, the duo Jatinder Singh Durhailay and Suren Seneviratne returns to its fruitful collaboration with a new experimental and sonic musical endeavour titled Petit Oiseau. The duo has in 2019 performed in venues including the V&A Museum and The Design Museum London. The project brings together rare classical Indian string instruments played by Durhailay known as the Dilruba and the Taus, unusually combined with Seneviratneâ s interests in alternate tunings and numerology through custom patches built on a E- MU Command Station digital synthesiser. Printed in the United Kingdom in October 2019.

Title: The Ordinary Society For Kindness To All Animals In The Art World - Manifesto
Edited by: Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck
ISBN10-13: 1036962873 : 9781036962876
| The Ordinary Society for Kindness to All Animals in the Art World is a printed soft-cover version of the online Manifesto written by transdisciplinary artist Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck in 2024. This printed version includes new paintings. The Ordinary Society for Kindness to All Animals in the Art World is a pioneering declaration that urges artists, institutions, curators, critics, collectors, and audiences to reimagine their relationships with human and non-human beings who have long existed in the margins of creative culture. Gathering and forming an ever growing new collective of artists, writers, ethicists, and cultural workers, The Ordinary Society for Kindness to All Animals in the Art World seeks to elevate compassion as an active principleâ not an afterthought. The Societyâ s newly published Manifesto outlines a vision for an art world where animals are treated not merely as materials, motifs, or metaphors, but as living individuals with intrinsic worth, setting a New Standard for Ethical Creativity. The Manifesto challenges long-standing norms within artistic production and exhibition practice. It encourages creators to critically re-examine how animals (humans and non-humans) appearâ physically, symbolically, or structurallyâ in art spaces. The document calls for an end to exploitative practices and instead champions imaginative alternatives that celebrate life while respecting the autonomy of other species. This publication is an Invitation to the Global Art Community. It is a must-read for those interested in the more-than-human in the arts and culture. The publication was launched in November 2025 at Stroom Den Haag, an Art Centre in The Netherlands.
